Hi Guys. So, this is the makeup and hair look that I created today and wanted to show you guys. And the makeup look I created with the Deck of Scarlet palette. This is like a subscription palette where you just pay $29.95 every other month and you get new palettes every two months.
So this is the SonjdraDeluxe which I’ve been watching her videos for literally, probably one of my first people I watched on YouTube, so when she came out with this palette, I was super excited and it’s absolutely perfect for Valentine’s Day, so I wanted to create a little look with it.
The link for this will be down below and all the information about it, as well as everything that I used on my face. I’m going to try and put it down below, as well. So if you guys are interested in finding out how I did this makeup look and hair tutorial, then just keep watching.
So the first thing I’m going to do is start off with my Urban Decay eye shadow primer and then I’m going to be taking this bronzing color.
I like to use bronze colors for my transition color because it just goes well with my skin tone. I just really like the way that looks. I’m going to take a fluffy brush and I’m going to fan it out kind of towards my temples, then I’m going to take this pencil brush and grab that deep red color.
And you can be kind of messy with this, but just know that you’re going to be doing a lot of blending. So I’m going to put this in my crease and then I’m going to grab this sigma blending brush and I’m going to be blending out that color.
I’m going to keep doing that step until my crease is covered. This is going to be kind of like a cut crease in a way. And then, I’m going to be blending it into my transition color. Now that I am satisfied with the deepness of the red, I’m just going to blend out a little bit more and then take a flat eye shadow brush and my mat pink pot in soft oaker and I’m just going to kind of be creating a cut crease and, Stella, what are you meowing about?
And I’m just going to be kind of outlining my eyelid. I’ve never done a voice over that she meows, so sorry. But I’m going to be taking that deep red color and I’m going to be putting this on this outer half of my eyelid. I think she wants to do the voice over for me, actually.
Then I’m going to be doing the same thing on the other side and I’m just going to be placing this on.
It’s almost like a patting and then I’m going to grab the black, which you do have to be kind of worried about the black and start out small, if you’re going to be doing like a rubbing motion or a swiping motion, but I did a patting motion so I kind of just patted in the color where I wanted it to be and then you are going to blend everything out. I know it looks a little crazy right now, but we will blend, I promise.
Now I’m going to be taking this sparkly red color and I’m going to be putting this right on the other side of that deep red, kind of like an hombre affect, you know, like the deep red is going into the lighter pink. I just think it’s super pretty.
I’m also going to be putting this sparkly red on the bottom lash line and smoking that out to match the top. We want to make sure we’re blending this out and smoking out our bottom lash line because if you have a really smoky lid and not a smoky lash line, it might look a little bit odd, so I’m just going to be doing that, and then also placing some of the black in the outer corner of my bottom lash line to kind of make that appear smokey, as well.
Then I’m going to be taking this highlighting color and placing this on my eyelid and on my brow bone. I’m going to be curling my eyelashes and applying the Better Than Sex by Too Faced mascara and I’m also going to be applying fake eyelashes. I use the Cara 415. Those ones are my favorite right now. You want some eyelash that you are going to be able to see your eyelid. You don’t want to take away from that, but you also just want to kind of add some drama to it.
Okay guys, so I finished my eye look and it’s really, really dramatic, so for my lips, I’m thinking I’m going to be using the melted chocolate and the color chocolate honey lipstick. This is a long wearing lipstick and I really like this color. It’s like more on the brownie nude-y side and since our transition color was more on the, like, orangish warm tone brown color, I thought this would kind of like bring that out. So that is the color that I’m kind of going for with this look, it’s a little grungy.
I am going to show you guys how I do my hair really quickly just because you guys have been asking me so much how I do that little side braid that you see in like my Instagram pictures and I think I have it in one video. I’m not sure, but I’m going to do it really quickly. It’s really, really simple so here we go.
Okay, so I have my hair up in these two clips right now. So I’m just going to take this down like my baby hairs are kind of curly right now so ignore that.
I do have a wig on just because I wanted long hair for this. So it works with a wig, extensions, pretty much the same thing regardless.
Yeah, so, I leave this side down. I always… My hair is parted to the left, so I leave the right side down and as you can see, this is all my real hair up in front, but you just want to grab the first section, so you want to grab like, I want to say it’s like four or five inch section right here. It goes to right here, it’s hard to see. You want to grab all of that in a straight line and split it into threes.
Now, you want to grab the front piece and you want to go over the middle piece and then grab the back piece and go over that middle piece, as well. Then we’re going to do a French braid so it’s not going to be a Dutch braid. When you come to the front, whatever piece is in front you want to grab a little extra hair, and you want to kind of comb it backwards and continue on with that French braid.
When you come to the back, you just want to grab a little bit and keep adding to the braid and then you’re just going to braid that. Keep adding from the front and I like to make sure that all my front hairs are going back. And then I like right here to leave a little bit of my baby hairs out so I’ll just kind of grab around it. So I left this chunk out, but I’m just going to continue that French braid.
And then right when I get to right above my ear and I want to leave some hair that will go over my ear, just because I don’t want my like ear popping out, if you know what I mean. So I’m just going to leave a little bit to go right over my ear. And this is where I’m going to still grab from the back for a couple of pieces and I’m going to stop grabbing from the front and the back, and you just want to braid your hair downwards.
So from there, you can leave it like stick straight to your head but I do like to grab each section of my hair and kind of pull it upwards just to loosen it up and so it falls like a little more naturally. And I always like my hair pretty big and messy, so I just want to grab some of those pieces.
So I hope you guys enjoyed these two tutorials. If you did, please give it a thumbs up. Don’t forget to subscribe. I apologize that this video was on the longer side.
I hope everything made sense and you guys enjoyed it. And I can’t wait to see you guys in my next video. Bye, guys.
