Hey guys. Welcome back to my channel. Today’s video is going to be a really quick one. It’s a tutorial on this look that I have on right now. It’s a very neutral, everyday look. I have been gravitating towards the colors of the face a lot of late. So, I wanted to do a tutorial showing you guys how I create this look that I have been wearing so often. Okay?
So this video is in collaboration with Deck of Scarlet. If you guys have not heard of Deck of Scarlet before, they are a subscription based makeup brand and they release a new makeup palette every two months. The most exciting thing about them, for me, is the fact that they release these palettes every two months in collaboration with a YouTuber. It kind of shows you how things have changed. So I’m going to be using their latest palettes for this tutorial. And it is the one that they have in collaboration with Nazanin Kavari.
So, these are the colors that you get with this palette. I’m going to show you guys a closeup. So, I use the colors here to create this look. I did incorporate some things outside of this palette but I’m going to explain why later on. And, I also want to show you guys another palette that they have. And this one is the one that they have in collaboration with Bab’s Beauty. I know Bab’s Beauty here on YouTube and this palette is so hot. The colors are so vibrant. The packaging is also really nice. This one is really black and white and it has more purples that anything in it.
So, I’m going to start out by priming my eyes and this time around I am using the same old, same old MAC Prep and Prime 24 Hour Extend Eye Base. The name is so long but it prevents my eye shadow from creasing. And into my transition area, I am using a burnt orange shade. This one is by Makeup Geek and it’s called Morocco, I think. And it’s just going to give my transition area some warmth and help my crease color transition better. So, to give my lid color something to stick to I am using NYX’s jumbo pencil in French Fries. It’s one of my favorite jumbo pencil. It’s a nice gold.
And this color that I’m going to use first is called Feeling Peachy, from the Deck of Scarlet palette.
I’m just packing it onto my lid and once I have achieved the coverage that I want…this is my MAC 239, by the way…I am going to go in with ABH’s eye shadow in Fudge. It’s a very dark brown. Super pigmented. However, I’m applying this very, very lightly into that area. Just to give my eyes some depth.
And, I’m going to go in with Yasmin. This is actually a highlighter for the cheekbones but I’m going to be using this to set my brow bone in right. [INAUDIBLE 00:02:16] I think it can actually be used for both. It performed more like an eye shadow to me, so I’m using it for this. You know? The brush that I use is my normal [INAUDIBLE 00:02:24] eye shadow brush. I’m just blending everything out at this point. Just to make sure that everything blends out nicely. No harsh lines.
And to line my eyes, I’m creating a very thin line and I’m using a pen liner by Deck of Scarlet. The palettes always come with an additional product and this time around it came with an eyeliner. Just combing my lashes upwards in preparation for the falsies and this is Pur’s Fully Charged.
And to open my eyes up a little bit I am using Sho Cute. It’s a very nice pink with bits of glitter and it’s iridescent, I think. And my lashes for this look is Lana Lashes Donna. It’s one of their older lashes.
Priming my face and this is Illamasqua’s Matte Veil, as usual, that I use. Foundation is MAC’ Studio Fix Fluid. I’m just repeating everything on screen. I better get… You guys can read these things at this point [INAUDIBLE 00:03:16] but… I want my highlight very bright. I am going to be mixing two different shades. I’m no longer going to, like, read the products, their names, out because it’s already on the screen.
And I’m going to go ahead and contour. I’m using ABH’s Contour Powder in Espresso. I’m using the powder contour only for this particular tutorial. I don’t…I didn’t…I did not cream contour. My blush is MAC’s Ambering Rose. It has some bits of shimmer in it so you can actually skip your highlighter but me, I am still going to use highlighter. And this is MAC’s Mineralized Skin Finish in Gold Deposit, my fav… The brush is from ABH. It’s their A23 brush.
Just opening my eyes up a, you know, a bit more and I am apply… I am… English, please. I am applying some mascara…or I applied some mascara on my bottom lashes.
This lip pencil is one of my favorites, especially when it comes to lining nude lips. And you guys saw from the beginning that my lips, for this look, they were really, really, like, nude and neutral. So I love [INAUDIBLE 00:04:52] because [INAUDIBLE 00:04:54] Toast.
This is Birthday Suit. It looks a little bit dark, yeah? In the pan, yeah? But you guys can see how light it looks on my skin tone. It just shows you that these things… You know, you need to put them on to see. So, I want a very glossy finish and I use a clear gloss with bits of shimmer. Just to finish up the whole look. This is what the entire look looks like. It’s very neutral, very subtle. I’ve been rocking it a lot of late. And I hope that you guys love it.
Some few things before I leave, about Deck of Scarlet. They are subscription based, however, you have the right to drop out whenever you want. Just end your subscription. You also have the option to skip a palette whenever you want. And I think that this is really cool because, depending on who they’ve collaborated with, the colors might just not… I don’t know. An example for me is this brown, here. This brown is a very nice brown and I know that people who are way lighter than me would not have any problem wearing it. However, it is just too light to show up on people my skin tone. You know on a [INAUDIBLE 00:05:56] And then the blush here is also too bright. I don’t… I don’t see a lot of women of color wearing this shade of blush. So that’s a thing to keep in mind. Know that you can always skip a palette if you’re not feeling it.
I hope that you guys enjoyed this video. Don’t forget to thumbs it up. I’m going to leave any other additional details that you guys need, in the comments section and I’ll see you guys… Not comments section. Why do I keep saying comments section? In the description box. Yeah. In the description box. I’ll see you guys in my next video. Bye guys.
