Hi guys. It’s Talia. Welcome back to my channel. Today I am doing a video with Deck of Scarlet, which is a makeup subscription service that comes to your door every two months with new products. Now obviously, this video is sponsored by Deck of Scarlet, so if that bo… I know that bothers a lot of people. I don’t know why because I would never lie about a product. You guys know that. You’ve seen my first impressions, if I don’t like something, I will let you know. And I had, like, every intention of filming this video, and if I didn’t like it, I would still upload it, but just like not have it a sponsored video, and have it as like a sponsored fail video. But, lo and behold, these products are actually really, really good.
You’ll see in, like, the tutorial portion of it, I like first impressions, because I hadn’t used them before, and an unboxing. So I don’t really know what I’m going to call this video yet, but, I mean, just look at those colors. I am so in love with the purple in this palette. I don’t really want to ruin it. So, actually, I am going to wait until you get to the… You’ll just have to look at the second part of the video to see all the swatches.
Every two months they bring out a new palette, and I think a lip crayon, as well, because this one has lip crayon. I don’t know if that’s in every month or not, but if they do, awesome. And it’s always a collaboration with a YouTuber. And this month is with a girl called BabsBeauty, also known as Stephanie. And this is her if you’re not too sure who she is. She’s absolutely stunning, and she did really good with this palette. The collaboration clearly worked because, like, this purple, genuinely, best purple shadow I’ve ever used. So pigmented and not like…not patchy. And purple shadows are notoriously difficult to like, formulate and have them like, go on so smoothly.
So, for $29.95… I actually don’t know if I said how much it is. It’s $29.95, bearing in mind that you get three shadows, a highlight, a blush, two glosses, and a lip crayon. That is an incredibly low price. And getting one every two months of like colors that… Like, I would have never chosen these colors, and never have done this look if I hadn’t got this box. So, it’s a really good way of like pushing you out of your comfort zone and forcing to you to like try-on new looks. So, if you are really into makeup and you like doing more artsy things, or just trying different things and trying to push yourself out of your comfort zone, I would highly recommend trying Deck of Scarlet. And if you do want to try them, then obviously all the links will be down below, and you’ll just need to click on them, and it will take you where you need to go and you just have to like, fill out, like, what you normally do when you order products. Know… I know you totally know how to do that. But before I carry rambling on, I ‘m just going to skip to the, you know, unboxing, trying on makeup portion of it. What am I talking about? I don’t know. Let’s just go to that part of the video.
So, as you can see, I have already done my foundation and my brows. I’m actually doing foundation first impressions at the moment, so the link will be in the description below. It’s the new NYX foundation, but that is not what we are to be talking about today.
Today we are talking about the Deck of Scarlet subscription service. Now, I got my palette in the mail literally, a few days ago. I get it a little bit earlier than you guys, obviously, just because I’m a YouTuber, so I’m here to review it. The box it comes in just looks like this. It’s just a matte black box. When you open it there is… So, you get a card just all about the YouTuber that they collaborated with to make the palette and then, you know, a little bio on the back. And then also this… Ooh, I feel bad breaking the seal. I don’t like it. Right, see you just get, like, a little contact card. Also, I just… I really like the packaging and I think it looks really sleek. So, underneath that, there’s this little, like, foam thing which you can pull back and I think you get… Ooh. I haven’t seen this yet. I’m very excited. Okay, so you get… I don’t know what this is. I think it’s a… So, this is a lip crayon, and then this is the palette that it comes with. So, on the back of the palette, it’s got all the ingredients, and then just like, a little description, kind of, of the palette itself. It comes in a little sleeve, and it comes out like this. Ooh, and I really love this packaging. Ooh, and it’s got two little…
Okay, it’s got like a jewel, like, casing that flips up. So, on this side you have the two lip colors, and then over here you have the three eyeshadows, and then the blush and the highlights. Ooh. They are actually really creamy. And then this is the blush. Now the blush is super purple, so I don’t know how that’s going to look on my skin tone. I’m a little bit worried about that. If it doesn’t work as a blush, I’m just going to use it as an eye shadow. I’m probably going to use it as an eyeshadow anyway because I love that color. And then, these two are like glosses. This is like, the lip crayon. Wow. Okay. I want to do something kind of springy, I think, just because the colors really lend themselves to that.
I’m going to start with the shade Making Mauve. Okay. And then I’m just going to put that in my crease. Hello pigment. Oh, my goodness. This is really pigmented. Should probably not have used this as a crease color. I feel like I should maybe zoom you guys in a bit. Hello. Welcome to my face. This is actually blending out really nicely. I really like it.
Okay, now I’m going to use the color Sophia, which is like, the bright purple. I’m very excited about this one. And I’m just going to push this into the crease. Umm. And oh, my goodness, look how pigmented that is. Can you even see? Woo! I’m very excited. That purple is stunning. And I’m not really getting any fallout, which I’m actually very surprised about because there is a bit of like, kickback. Wait. Can you see that? Hope you can. There is a bit of kickback, but, yeah, it’s… I haven’t really gotten any fallout. I don’t know. I’m not complaining.
I’m just going to use the blush shade, which is called…Bobdy. Bobdy? And I’m going to use that on my lower lash line. Yeah. It’s just a bit more pink-tone, which I like. I’m just going to run this purple just under my lash line, as well, because I’m very excited about it.
I’m now just going to take the shade, Peachy Keen, which is just the peach shade. Shocking. And I’m going to sweep this all over my lid. Yes. Come through pigment. I’m actually so excited by this.
Do you know what I’m going to do? I’m going to spray my brush because I want to see if I can intensify this peach even more, just because I really like it. So, I’m going to spritz my brush with some Fix Plus. I don’t if this… This might ruin the shadow. [INAUDIBLE 00:06:23] Ooh. Nope. Did not ruin it. Just made it even more intense. Hell, yeah. I’m so happy.
I’m going to take that same peach shade and use that on my inner corner. Do you know what? I’m going to try this as a blush, but I’m going to be really, really light handed with it. Wait, let me zoom you out. I’m going to zoom you back out, now that my eyes are done. I’m just going to dip my blush really lightly into Bobdy and try it as a blush. Well, actually, once you kick off the excess… Let’s try it. Ooh. Okay. We are looking sufficiently blush.
Now I’m going to try the highlight. I don’t know how this is going to go. I don’t know. I’m skeptical. I’m not going to lie. Give it a whirl. We might need to wet the brush to make it more intense, but it doesn’t, you know… Highlights aren’t meant to be intense. Not all of them anyway. Oh. Okay. Um… So, this one’s…it’s nice. It’s not entirely my highlight, you know. My highlights are like… Oh. It’s actually very natural looking. I did it like I’m naturally like… Can you see the difference between that cheek and that cheek? It’s just super naturally glow-y. And because this isn’t super shiny, I can actually put this on and texture, and it doesn’t pick up texture, which is actually very nice.
I am now going to take the one stroke graphic lip crayon in the shade Mia, and give this a whirl. I might need to go and get a lip liner. I don’t know. Whoa, that is pigmented. Okay. Oh. I love the color. Not on me. Ooh, that color is not my color. Okay. I’m just going to wipe this off and use one of the other ones.
Okay, while I just went to wipe off the majority of my lipstick, I just put on some lashes, and did my mascara as well, so my eyes are now finished. And I am obsessed. Okay, you know, I cannot take myself seriously with this lipstick on, so I’m actually just going to take the shade… What’s this? Plump. And I’m going to put this on my lips. Am I going to use a brush or am I going to us a finger? Oh, it’s pigmented. I just don’t know if I can pull it off. Can I? Probably not. It’s a really pretty color, but I never wear purple on my lips, so I don’t think it suits me. I don’t know. I think I kind of like it, though. Okay, I love this formula. I don’t know how I feel about the color on me.
I am really, thoroughly impressed with this, especially this purple. I’m so, like, shook. And it comes with a mirror. It just… I am obsessed with this eye makeup. But that is it for me.
