Hey guys, welcome back to my channel. I also happen to be back doing a makeup tutorial. And I did use a little bit of purple, but this palette is all about this Deck of Scarlet palette. So, this is actually a subscription that comes every two months, which is pretty cool, because you can actually skip it if you don’t want it, and if you do want it you can just not skip it. Each subscription, you do get a palette, and every palette is in collaboration with a YouTuber. This collaboration was actually with BabsBeauty and I was so excited to try it out. I feel like the colors are amazing and really, really different. So, I love how they have very neutral tones like this mauve color, this peach color, there’s brown, and then they have these pop of colors. Like, this one right here is extremely pigmented. I actually used these two today on my eyes and this one for the inner corner of my eye. And it also comes with two lip colors right here.
Since I’m more of a nude girl–I love nude lip–I did not use the colors, but I am going to show you guys a clip where I did try it out, because it also comes with a little lip crayon, Chubby Stick thing, and the color is pretty cool. I mean, I wouldn’t really wear a color like this, if you guys know me–maybe for the fall time—but I know a lot of girls who love colors like this. This is, like, a very mauve-y, dark mauve-y color and it glides on.
I do like that their products are cruelty free and that’s a big plus. So, the subscription itself is $29.95, but it’s every other month, and you could skip a month. It depends on you and what you like. For example, for me, I was pretty shocked with the colors because I don’t really use purples, but it is what it is, and I ended up trying it out and I ended up liking it. It does come out with different colors and different themes, so I feel like that’s pretty cool. You just don’t know what to expect. So, I’ll list all the information to Deck of Scarlet down in my description bar, and if you guys have any questions, just comment down below. And let’s get started with this tutorial. And you open it, it’s a big box like this and there’s a cute little note right here. So, this palette is the May-June palette. And this is what it looks like. Everything is super cute. Like, the packaging is the main thing. When you open it, it has two sides. There’s one side and this is the other side.
So, I am going to start by moisturizing, and today I am taking my Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior cream. I’m going to start off by applying my foundation, and I’m using my MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD foundation in the shade Y335. Before I do that, of course, I’m going to prime my face, and this time I’m going to use the MAKE UP FOR EVER Step 1 smoothing primer.
You take it down here and just keep blending it. It’s going to just blend itself with the beautyblender. So, I’m going to set my eyes with Airspun translucent powder and my Real Techniques. I think this is the setting brush. I don’t remember what brush it is. And I’m going to take the color Making Mauves. That’s such a cute name. So, that’s that color right there. I don’t know what I’m doing here, so… I’m just going to blend this onto my eyes.
So, I’ve filled in my eyebrows and I popped some lashes on. So, I’m going to do my concealer and I’m using the Tarte Shape Tape concealer just to conceal a little bit.
So, I actually want to apply the color Gilded, which is this color here, to the inner corner of my eye, so I’m going to take my Sigma E30 pencil brush and just pop that in the inner corner. Now, I don’t know if this is supposed to be a highlight for your face, since it is a bigger shadow, but I definitely would use it as an inner corner highlight or a brow-bone highlight because of the chunky glitter in it. So, I think it’s super cute for the inner corner instead of the actual face. So, I just blended that in there.
This also came with a pencil, which is right here. This is a lip crayon and I kind of want to try it on. It’s a creamy color and I don’t think I have a color like this. I don’t even wear colors like this, but I’m just so curious to try it on. Yeah, you will never see me wear colors like this, but I’m just going to apply it just so you guys can see. It is very pigmented and very creamy. It kind of feels like a lipstick. So, it’s very, very creamy. I don’t know how I feel about the color. I’m not a huge fan of, like, greys or purples on my lips. I mean, there are a lot of girls who could pull it off, but, I mean, what do you guys think? It’s just something very new. I don’t know. What do you guys think about it? Let me know in the comments below what you guys think about it. I feel like the lip crayon is pretty cool. I don’t know what color it is because it doesn’t say. It just says one stroke graphic lip crayon. But I feel like the finish is nice. If it was more of a nude color… Since there are a lot of purples in this palette, a nude color would look really, really pretty. The colors–I’m guessing these are lip colors, too–it’s purple and browns, so you could use your lip crayon and you can always spice it up with a little bit of purple. Or if you want to go a little darker, just put some of this one. It’s called Brownies. But, honestly, I feel like a nude color would look really, really cute with this. Maybe for fall, I think it would look really, really nice, but definitely for springtime, a peachy, nude color would have been perfect. I still feel it on my lips. It kind of feels like a gloss, and let’s see if it’s easy to wipe off. My lips are kind of stained because of the lipstick, or the lip crayon, so it definitely stains your lips, but it doesn’t leave them dry or anything like that.
So, I just changed my lip color, but I’m really liking the eyes. [INAUDIBLE 00:08:32] eyeshadow. It was looking a little bit patchy and I was kind of concerned because in pictures and stuff it looks really, really pigmented, but once you apply it with a brush, I feel like it blended nicely. And it’s kind of hard for me to do purple on the crease because I normally do neutral tones on the crease, and then I’ll add a pop of color on the lid or something. But I really like that I could switch it up and do a purple, and this purple is actually really, really pretty, so I really like how it blended. And this purple right here, I don’t know… This was really pigmented. I don’t know what it was, but this one stands out the most and it’s very pigmented. I just do, like, one little swatch and it’s extremely pigmented.
So, if you love colors, this palette is perfect, and, honestly, I feel like this is a pretty cool deal if you think about it. It brings eyeshadows and lip colors, and you can always mess around. You could do something simple, you could do something dramatic. And the palette is really, really cute just to have laying around on your makeup vanity table or anything. I mean, it has a mirror, too, so I feel like that’s pretty cool. The packaging is awesome. I feel like the subscription is pretty cool. It depends on you, if you like subscriptions or not.
Yeah, I really am digging my eyes. I feel like it’s really cute, and I really like the colors that I used. I really like the mauve-y purple with the peach on the lid. I feel like it just makes everything pop. So, right now, I’m actually going to take that same pencil brush and I’m going to kind of smudge the mauve-y purple that I usedon my lower lash line. Okay, that looks pretty good. I really like that.
So, I’m just going to apply some mascara to my lower lashes. I am not going to do eyeliner on my water line. I just… I don’t want to do that today. A little bit of highlight. Everything that I am using I will list down below, so make sure to check out my description. Most of the time it’s there, and if it’s not, you can ask me and I’ll tell you.
I hope you guys enjoyed this video, and I will see you guys in my next one soon. Bye, guys!
