Hey guys. Welcome back to another video. Today, I’m going to be giving you guys an eye shadow tutorial. This tutorial is going to be very different from anything that you have ever seen on this channel. I’m going to be doing the halo eye, which means the outer corner and the inner corner are just as dramatic. You know, normally we keep the darker shades on the outer corner and blend it in. Nope. Today, it’s going to be equally as dramatic on the outer corner and the inner corner. I actually recently came across this new company that does a subscription service of palettes. The colors in their palette for this month were insane, and that is what inspired me to do this video. I will talk to you guys a little bit about that palette later on in the video, in case you guys wanted to grab it yourself.
But I really just wanted to get out of my comfort zone and do something different. I guess I shouldn’t say get out of my comfort zone, because I love to do crazy makeup. If any of you guys at home are scared, please don’t be scared. You can just do this at home, practice at home. You don’t have to wear it out of the house. If you’re too nervous, just practice at home, girl, and then wash it off. If you guys are interested in this look, it’s a maroon-y, red, orange vibe on top, and we’ve got turquoise on the bottom. Then, you’ve gotta hit subscribe right now so you can see the rest of my videos. Let’s get started.
Ooh, I quickly wanted to mention the technique that I used today was inspired by Jaclyn Hills’ recent tutorial using the Androgyny palette by Jeffree Star. She actually used almost the same exact colors. But the colors are not what inspired me, because the colors are in this palette. But her technique is the reason I’m doing this technique. It’s almost very similar to her tutorial. Anyway, hit subscribe, and let’s get started.
Okay, guys, before we begin, I want to talk about what inspired this makeup look. There is a subscription service called Deck of Scarlet. It’s actually relatively new, and they sent me a PR. Basically, what they do is, every two months, they release a makeup palette and a couple other things, like lipstick or something like that, with a YouTuber. Usually it’s smaller YouTubers, so you know I have to support that. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much. But the whole reason I’m doing this video is because I got this in the mail, and I was so impressed by how professional this is packaged and how… It just really impressed me.
Basically, you pay $30 every two months, and you get one of these boxes in the mail every two months. This one… Just look. Watch. It comes in a slip, so I’ll take it out. This packaging is cardboard packaging, but it’s even better than Anastasia of Beverly Hills. This really impressed me. You open up the bottom, and it’s got these two cream lip products, which I’m not a fan of, because I don’t like cream lip products. But this packaging is so sleek and so nice. And the mirror folds back. Beauty girl plus.
These two colors right here are obviously what inspired me to do this makeup tutorial. I did just want to let you guys know that this is a thing. I’m going to leave the details and links down below. I wasn’t so sure of it myself until I got this, and I was so impressed by it. It also comes with a lip liner and an eyeliner, as well, which maybe I’ll test out at the end of this video. But it comes with the three shadows, and a really nice looking contour color, and a really nice looking highlight. I will try those at the end of this video. I don’t know. This really impressed me. Yeah, that’s what inspired me. Anyway, the whole point of this was that these colors in this palette inspired me to do this.
Before we get started with colors, I’m going to be going in with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette. I’m taking the shade Red Ochre, and I’m going to concentrate this on the outer and inner half of my eye. I’m going to do the halo eye, where everything is centered. Instead of winging out, we’re going to put everything that’s on the outer corner on the inner corner. I’m taking Red Ochre on a very dense brush, and I’m going to begin packing this into the outer and inner corner, like I said. Now that I’ve got that packed on there, I’m going to go ahead and take this shade, Realgar. I have no idea what that is, but it’s a little bit of a lighter shade. I’m taking a different dense brush, and I’m going to blend this in.
Now, I’m going to go ahead and take a dense flat brush, and I’m going to take this orange shade. It’s called Sunshine. I’m going to pack that all over the center of the lid. I’m going to go back in with that really dense brush and the Red Ochre, and just darken up the outer and inner corner again, and make sure that it’s blended into that orange.
I’m going to take a more tapered fluffy brush and take that Realgar orange shade again, and I’m going to blend out the top a little bit. I’m going to go ahead and hit the center of the lid again real quick with that orange shade, just to make sure it’s really popping right in the center.
Now, I’m going to go in with a really dense brush, and I’m going to take the shade Mermaid, which is this dark green. Now, it does have a little bit of shimmer in it, but that’s okay. I’m going to line the lower lash line with it. I’m really impressed with how smooth these shadows go on. I’m going to go ahead and grab a shorter brush, and I’m just going to blend that lower lash line out a little bit lower.
Now, I’m going to go ahead and apply my Andrea 45 lashes. The bigger and the more bold the lash, the better. I just don’t really have a super bold one right now. Now, I am going to go ahead and slap on some mascara on the top and bottom. Okay, now I’m going to go back into the palette, and I’m going to grab the highlighter, which is called Halo.
I’m going to use this as an inner corner highlight. It looks like a very subtle nice peachy… This looks like something Casey Holmes would like. Oh, wow. That’s beautiful. Are you guys seeing this? That’s absolutely stunning. It’s not too much. I hope you guys can see it. It shows up very well in person. I’m going to go ahead and take some of this highlight on my finger. It is more of a powdery highlight, so I’m going to use the warmth of my finger to melt it into the skin so that we don’t get as much of that powdery effect. This is actually my kind of highlighter. It’s very subtle, and it’s something that you can load on your face. Wow, that’s beautiful. It’s something you can load on your face without having to worry about it being overwhelming. It’s an extremely subtle highlight. I’m actually extremely impressed with this palette. I really, for whatever reason, was not expecting much out of it. Like I said, it does come with these two lip products on the bottom. I just completely stay away from pan lipsticks, so I’m just… No. I dug my finger into them and they were so…
This shade right here is called Sandstorm. It is extremely soft, and it seems like it would be the perfect contouring shade. I guess this was a review of this palette, which I told myself I wasn’t going to do, but I actually really liked this. The packaging is so sleek and yeah, wow. The fact that this comes with three shadows, a large contour, a large highlight, two lip products, and it comes with a lip liner and an eyeliner. How does this turn into a product review? It’s not supposed to be; it’s supposed to be a tutorial. Master of both worlds, right?
The eyeliner that came with this is actually a dark green. I should have paid attention to that. I’m just going to pop a little bit of this under here, along with my shadow, because it matches. This is a really nice liner, because it does have that hint of shimmer in it, just a tiny bit, just like the shadow that we used. This is perfect to put underneath. And then, we could have blended this liner out with the shadow, if I would have paid attention.
Next, it does come with quite a neutral lip liner, so I’m just going to use it. Very sharp and precise. It’s extremely matte, so you could definitely wear this on its own, and it wouldn’t come off. I’m going to go ahead and put a lighter nude lipstick over it though, because I didn’t want my lips to be that dark. This is Maybelline Blushing Beige, by the way.
Okay, guys, that’s it for this tutorial. Let me zoom in and show you the eyes. This is what it looks like. I think it’s absolutely stunning. I actually really love this palette. The shadow just looks whoo! It looks so good. I actually love the combination of the red and orange with the teal on the bottom. That is it for today’s tutorial. I really hope you guys enjoyed it. It was something different, a fun pop of color, something really different from what I normally do on my channel, which is normally a smoky nude eye with a wing liner.
So, it’s something different. I also introduced you guys to the whole Deck of Scarlet thing, which I actually am extremely impressed with. $30 is not bad for the fact that it comes with a full-sized palette and a few extra products on the side. So, yeah, I hope that this was a nice experience for us all. Don’t knock it until you try it. This look is absolutely fantastic. If you guys recreate it, please tag me so I can see. If you guys got the Jeffree Star Androgyny palette, you can definitely use the colors in there to recreate this. I was going to say this bundle is cheaper than that palette, because it is. Okay, I love you guys so much. I’ll talk to you guys in the comments. Bye.
