The gorgeous Melly Sanchez created a bold vampy night out makeup tutorial using Deck of Scarlet Sonjdra Deluxe palette. In order to recreate the look, watch the video, read the transcript of the video and follow the step by step images.
Hey, guys, and welcome back to my channel. I just want to wish all of you guys a Happy New Year. I can’t believe we’re already in 2017. This is insane. But today’s tutorial is going to be on this vampy night out makeup look. I created this entire look using only one palette, and it’s from a brand that I did feature in one of my previous videos, which is called Deck of Scarlet.
Before I get into the tutorial, I do want to let you guys know that I put the link down in the description box where you can purchase the Deck of Scarlet palette in case you want to recreate this look. If you guys want to know how I got this look, then please keep on watching.
So, I already went ahead and did my base and my eyebrows. I do have a foundational routine and an eyebrow routine video, which I’ll be listing down in the description box for those of you who would like to watch them. So, the palette that I’m going to be using today is from Deck of Scarlet. And it’s their newest palette. It comes like this. So cute. Look at these shades, guys. Oh my God.
So, I did use Deck of Scarlet in one of my previous videos. For those of you who did not watch that video, this is a subscription service. For $29.95, you get three eyeshadow shades, two cheek shades, two lip shades, a lip pencil, and then an eye pencil.
You get a lot of things, not just eye shadows, which is usually what comes in the regular eye shadow palette, but this is perfect for, like, when you’re traveling and you don’t want to pack too much makeup. I literally take this one and the other one that I used in my previous videos, and then you have your lipstick, your eyeliner, your cheek colors, everything in one, so you don’t have to pack everything individually, which I love.
I did explain in my previous video how Deck of Scarlet works, but for those of you who are new to my channel and did not watch that video, you can cancel anytime. If, let’s say they come out with a palette and you’re not really liking it, you can skip it. You don’t have to get it every time it comes out.
Moving onto the eyes, the first shade I’m going to be going in with is Montego Bay, and I’m just taking that on a fluffy brush. So, this is a cheek shade, but you can also use it as an eyeshadow. I’m taking this on my outer V and winging it out.
The next shade I’m going to be using is the shade called EH, and this is just a burgundy match shade.
I’m just taking that on my MAC 224 brush. And I’m going to keep this color more so in the crease. I’m not going to really take it up as high as I took that first shade. I’m also going to take this on my outer V and wing it out, as well.
One of my favorite things about Deck of Scarlet is that all of their palettes are paraben-free, cruelty-free, and they’re all made in the USA.
To make the eyeshadow that I’m going to be applying on my lid really pop, I’m just going to be applying a little bit of my bareMinerals bareSkin concealer to the center of my eyes, and I’m just taking that on a flat brush. Even though the shade that I’m going to be applying here is going to be very dark, I still want it to really, really pop.
For my lid, the shade I’m going to be using is Black Roses, and this is just a matte black shade.
I’m just taking that on a flat brush. And don’t worry if this looks a little messy. We will be blending this out. To blend this out a little bit, I’m just going to be going with my Makeup Addiction Cosmetics small tapered blender brush.
Now I’m just going to be going back into the shade EH with my MAC 225 brush, and I’m just going to blend the edges of this a little bit more.
The major key to a smoky eye is blending, so you just really have to spend time just blending the colors together, because you don’t want to see where color ends and begins. It’s supposed to be just a transition of colors. I’m just going to take this blending brush from Beth Bender Beauty, and I’m just going to dip it back into the Black Roses shade, just to, again, blend this out even more.
To highlight my brow bone, I’m going to be going into the shade Shimmy Shimmy Ya.
So, since I do have a lot of fallout, I’m just going to take a fan brush first to brush as much of it off as I can, and I’m just going to be taking my bare minerals for a skin concealer and just going to cleanup my under eye. To blend this out, I’m just going to be going back in with my beauty blender.
To start my under eye, I’m just going to be going back in with my Laura Mercier translucent powder. To highlight the inner corner of my eyes, I’m going to be going back into that Shimmy Shimmy Ya shade, and I’m using my MAC 219 brush again to apply that.
For my lower lash line, I’m going to be using the shade called Maya.
To smoke out my lower lash line, I’m just going to be going into the shade Black Roses.
To line my waterline, I’m going to be using Anarchy, and this eyeliner comes in the Deck of Scarlet palette.
For eyeliner, I’m going to be using the L’Oreal Infallible Gel Liner, and I’m just taking that on my MAC 266 angle brush.
For mascara, I’m just going to be using MicaBeauty black mascara gel. For lashes, I’m going to be using Lilly Lashes in the style Sophia, and I do have a coupon code for these lashes, which I’ll be listing down in the description box. I’m just going to be applying Duo glue to my lashes.
To contour my face a little bit more, I’m going to be going into the BH Cosmetics Studio Pro contour palette, and I’m just taking an angled brush to apply this shade right here. To add some color to my cheeks, I’m going to be going into the shade Montego Bay, and this is just going to make us look a little more bronze.
To highlight my face, I’m going to be going into the shade Shimmy Shimmy Ya, and I’m just taking that on a fan brush.
So, I actually switched the fan brush, and I’m actually going to be using my Strobing Fan brush from Sigma. I just like how this one is a little bit more precise in where it’s placing the highlight.
To line my lips, I’m going to be going in with Heartless, and this is the lip liner that comes in the Deck of Scarlett palette.
For lipstick, I’m going to be going into the shade Woo, and I’m just taking that on a flat brush. Oh my God, this lip color is bomb.
All right, guys. So, this is the final look. I really, really like how this look came out. I feel like it’s the perfect night out look for a date night or just if you’re going to the club. It just feels so, so vampy and so glam at the same time.
I love it. I really, really like how it came out. And I feel like normally, I would do, like, a nude lip when I do a smoky eye, but I was like, you know what? I’m gonna go out of my comfort zone for this one and I’m just going to prepare it with a bold lip, as well.
