Back to School Makeup by msuazo
In partnership with Deck Of Scarlet YouTuber Maria Suazo came up with this Back to School Makeup TUTORIAL which you will enjoy very much. To recreate the look, watch the YouTube video, read the transcription and follow the step by step images below:
Maria: Hey guys, welcome back to my channel. So, in today’s video, I’m going to be showing you guys how I achieved this makeup look. This is a back to school inspired makeup look, so if you are getting ready to go back to school, I hope this makeup looks inspires you and helps you, and I’m really excited, because in today’s makeup look, I used the neck Deck of Scarlet palette. If you haven’t heard of Deck of Scarlet, Deck of Scarlet is basically a subscription where you pay $29.95 every two months, and every two months, you receive a palette, and the palette contains products that you can use to achieve a full face.
So, for example, the one that I’m going to show you has blush, highlight, eyeshadows, lipstick, it has literally everything, and even a fault tip liner that can be used to achieve a full face, and you’ll get all of this for $29.95, as opposed to if you go to Sephora and you, like, have $29.95 in your pocket, you can’t even get one product, and if it is one product, it’s travel-sized. And what I also love about this subscription, is these are not travel-sized products. You get full size products for a very, very affordable price, and it allows you to step out of your comfort zone a little bit, because you’re getting products that you probably wouldn’t purchase outside of, like, the subscription, so it allows you to play with makeup and things like that, and every palette that comes out is in collaboration with a YouTuber. This month’s collaboration is with Nazanin Kavari, and if you guys are a part of the Kavari crew, comment down below.
So, before we get into the makeup tutorial, I kind of wanted to explore the product a little bit with you guys. This is what the palette looks like. I really, really love the packaging. When you take it out of the sleeve, this is what it looks like. The first thing that you have here when you open up is the two lipsticks. The top lipstick is Majesty, and the bottom lipstick is called Birthday Suit. The first lipstick, Majesty, is more of a very nice pink nude, and the bottom one, Birthday Suit, is more of a tan brown nude. And then, you open the second flap, and you have the three eyeshadows at the top, and then the two blushes.
First eyeshadow on this side is called Feeling Peachy. This is more of a peachy, glittery color, perfect for the lid. The middle eyeshadow is called Taj, and this is very cool tone grey color, so it’s prefect for the transition color. The first eyeshadow we have over here is Sho Cute, and this is more of a pastel pink with some nice glitter in it. And then, over here, we have the blush. This blush is called Baby Doll. It’s like the perfect Barbie blush, so perfect for fall and summer, it’s kind of like that universal blush color. And then, over here, we have the highlight, which s called Jasmine. This highlight is so beautiful, because it’s more of that, like, glow from within. IT’s not streaky, it’s not powdery, it’s just the perfect, smooth, buttery highlighter. And then, you also get an eyeliner, which is a pencil eyeliner, and it is a long lasting liquid liner in Koko Kavari. It’s so jet black, so high pigmented. So if you guys are interested in this Deck of Scarlet subscription, you can use the link down below to get 10% off, but without further ado, we’re going to go ahead and get right into this makeup tutorial.
So, before we go onto the eyes, I’m going to be using my naked skin concealer, and I’m going to use this to prime my lids. I’m going to be using my Morphe E21 brush to just blend this into the lids. Now, I’m just going to take some loose powder and set. I’m going to go ahead and go in with Taj, and this is a very mocha brown color, and I’m going to use this all over the crease with my Sigma E40 brush. These colors are very, very soft. I like them because they’re soft and they blend pretty, pretty well. So, I’m going for a very, very simple look for this, because we are just going back to school.
So, I’m going to be taking my Sigma E60 brush, and I’m going to take Feeling Peachy, and I’m just going to peck it onto that brush. Dang, this tone looks really, really nice! I am really, really impressed by this eyeshadow. I just, like, don’t want to stop, I just want to keep packing it on. And then, I’m just going to take my blending brush and I’m going to blend it all out.
So, I’m going to go ahead and use Jasmine on my Sigma E30 pencil brush, and I’m just going to place that on the brow bone to really make this a nice dewy look.
For foundation, I’m using the Melania 2-in-1 Conceal and Perfect Foundation, and I am the shade 02 Natural. I’m just going to buff this into the skin with my beauty blender. Next, we’re going to go in with concealer, and I’m using my Naked Skin Concealer, by Urban Decay, and this is in the shade Light. So, I’m just going to place this under my eyes. I really love this concealer for an everyday look, because it’s so, so, so lightweight. It’s not heavy, it won’t cake up. It’s perfect for long days, those eight-hour school days.Do you guys see how seamless that blends? Like, it’s so, so, so easy to blend.Okay, so, now I’m just going to go in with my RCMA powder, and I’m going to go ahead and set my under eyes in all the areas that I highlighted. I’m going to go ahead and set my face with my Mac powder, just so that I can go in with a little bit of bronzer.
I’m going to take this makeup [INAUDIBLE 00:05:39] bronzer Love Triangle, and it’s like the warm porcelain shade, I think. But I’m using my Sigma Large Powder F20 brush. This bronzer is so pretty, but this powder brush applies it so, so, so smoothly. If you guys want a discount on buying Sigma brushes, you can use the link down below to purchase them off the low‑low. I love this brush, oh my God! Wow, that’s pretty! So, now I’m going to go ahead and take off all of this powder, and I’m going to buff it into… I’ll just get a little bit on my forehead, just to create some unity in the face, [Laughs] you know? Okay, next thing I’m going to do is I’m going to be using the Deck of Scarlet long‑lasting liquid liner that came in it, and it’s in Koko Kavari. That is such a cute name, Koko Kavari. And I’m just going to do a very, very light eyeliner. I’m really impressed by this eyeliner. Like, it made the eyeliner application super, super easy for me. I didn’t have to struggle, and I think it’s the perfect eyeliner if you’re on the go, and you, like, don’t have time to mess up.
So, next, I’m going to go in with Mascara. I’m using my telescopic L’Oréal Carbon Black mascara. This is my ultimate favorite, forever and ever and always, my favorite, favorite. So, I’m just going to do one eye, so you guys can see, like, how incredible this eye mascara is. Why do I want to keep saying eyelash? I kind of wanted to do just this eye, so you guys could see the big difference of, like, I look awake and alive [Laughs] on this side of my face. So, I’m just going to go ahead and finish the other eye.
So, before we move on to highlight on the face, I’m just going to use the Jasmine highlight to place on the inner part of my eye, which is the inner corners of my eyes, and I’m using my pencil E30 brush, by Sigma. So, we’re just going to pop that. Ooh, look at that! That’s so pretty!
Then, I’m going to use my Anastasia A23 brush to use that highlight to put all over the face. Ooh! I like it! It’s so nice and natural! I like how it applies very, very nice and, like, smooth. It looks like a part of your skin, you know? Like, it looks like something you put beneath the foundation, and not something, like, on top. And, of course, I’m going to place some on my chin. Look at that! I am loving this highlighter. Like, I haven’t stopped. I think it’s been, like, four minutes, and [Laughs] I’m just putting it everywhere, all over.
Now we’re going to go ahead and move on to blush, and of course, I’m going to be using the blush in this palette called Baby Doll. Yeah, mm-hmm. Yes! Not pasty, not chalky.
Next, I’m going to go in with the lips, and I’m going to be using the lipstick Birthday Suit. So, I’m just using my eyeliner E05 brush to apply this onto the lips. I just dig my nail in! Wow, that’s pretty! That’s very pretty! I can’t believe it. Yo, can I just say how happy I am that…?
